Did you say "fabric softener"?

The Wall Street Journal reports that young people no longer consider fabric softener a necessity. Due to the improved quality of clothing fabrics and washing machines, millennials are leaving fabric softener at the store.

Statistics show that the decline in the fabric softener market began when sales fell 15 percent between 2007 and 2015. Top marketing executives are constantly trying to find a way to connect with young people, but their efforts seem futile.

Do you prefer shower gel?

The name of the game now is "body wash." Bar soaps are almost obsolete, even if your bathtub has a built-in soap dish. Chances are, younger people haven't used that soap dish at all, and there's a good reason for that.

A MarketWatch report says that 60 percent of adults between 18 and 24 think that bars of soap are covered in germs after use. That's alarming, but it explains why body wash is so popular now. Rest in peace, bars of soap.
